にTime / destination / existence / recipient
に is one of the most important particles. At N5 level, remember four big uses: 1) Time point (specific time): はちじに, げつようびに 2) Destination: がっこうに いきます 3) Location of existence (with あります/います): ここに ほんが あります 4) Recipient/target: ともだちに あいます, ともだちに あげます If で is where an ACTION happens, に is often where something EXISTS or where something GOES.

Common mistakes

- ×Mixing に and で: に is often destination/existence/time; で is place of action/means.
- ×Using に for vague time like まいにち (usually no に).
- ×Forgetting に for recipient/target (meeting, giving).
