End in an “u-row” kana (う/く/ぐ/す/つ/ぬ/ぶ/む/る). The last kana changes.
Often end in る after an i/e sound. Drop る, then add suffix.
する, 来る, and the いく te/ta exception.
Exception: いく becomes いって / いった (not いて).
Always drop る first.
